I absolutely love Thursday evenings. Having ladies coming into my home to crochet is fast becoming addictive. I love sharing my passion and seeing others becoming 'hooked' it is so very exciting. This week was week 2 in the making a blanket course and I decided to dive head first into a stich not designed for beginners. Was I being foolish as three of the six on the course had only started crocheting 8 days previously in our last lesson, but I thought in for a penny and all that...
There were grumblings and little moans of angst as we began and one was heard to say, no don't like this can I go back to last weeks stitch, but I beat them with my crochet hook and lo and behold by the end of the session everyone had cracked and admitted to being rather chuffed at having learnt a new stitch. Me... a very proud mother hen!

| We have virtual crocheters too. This one from Canada and Linne is making THREE blankets all at the same time, they are only ever so slightly smaller than the ones being made on the course, I think Linne is winning hands down with motivation |

Wow all the blankets are so fantastic. I love seeing how everyone has picked different colors and they are all so wonderful.

ReplyDeleteThey are!! And all such different colours. Really cannot wait to see how next week they will begin to look more different from each other. I'm loving it. Thinking about posting the cake recipes we have too. What do you think?

DeleteThey all look great! Nice to see photos. I'm not sure experience has a lot to do with it, either; it took me a couple of tries to get the puffy spike stitch to work (especially the spacing), so I'm totally impressed by any beginner who gets it! (of course, being beaten with a crochet hook must help with motivation ;-) )

DeleteE. I too live how they are already different. I keep looking at everyone else's and wishing I had chosen different colours. After this week, think they will differ evenire from each other!

ReplyDeleteI find if I am struggling when alone trying to figure out a new stitch I turn to you tube. Not all videos are great, so I sometimes hop from one to another. Wish you lived closer too...
