I am in my element, somehow I misunderstood and the crochet photo a day challenge was not just for the first half of April, but for the whole month!! I cannot tell you how happy that has made me feel. The first whiff of this news came when I saw Ashley's post...

Day 16: CROCHET TOY
As I have not made a toy, I included International Ted's string vest that he commissioned me to make for him whilst on a Mediterrean cruise |
Day 17: STITCH COMBO
This is my favourite, yet unfinished blanket, I love all the stitch combinations |
Day 18: GRANNY SQUARE
I love a good granny square, shown here with a photo of mamma as a little girl, she is still my inspiration and go to person if I am stuck |
Day 19: MANDALA
My first ever mandala, post all about it here and what a mandala actually is! |
Day 20: HOOK HOLD
I look very awkward in this shot but holding my hook is so comfortable that I was shocked at how it looked! |

ReplyDeleteThanks Sara. I'm really enjoying it
DeleteI appreciate your skillful hands!
ReplyDeleteRita, you are too kind x
DeleteAlways lovely to see your crochet Selma. I am so new to it that I realise I only have one hook! Maybe I should branch out a little. X
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes!! You definitely need more hooks in all sizes so you can play Jules. You'll be amazed at the differ t things you will be able to hook up. Go out. Buy. Enjoy.
DeleteI love Ted's string vest. A few plush around here now want me to learn to crochet!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a relaxing hobby you would love it. I'm pretty sure
DeleteThis is such a good challenge, I'm glad we've got a few more photos to look forward to. x
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen. So am I.
DeleteLovely work! I knit a little but can't crochet at all so it's really nice to see yours, especially to see your hands as you work.
ReplyDeleteThank you Robin many on the challenge actually videoed themselves I hadn't thought to do that. Maybe in the future?
DeleteSuch a great challenge, I still love the mandala, the colours are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's really growing on me too the mandala. Not sure why I've waited so long to make one
DeleteI love the things you have chosen for the challenge especially Ted's string vest:)
ReplyDeleteThe string vest was s but of fun and the school children lived it Rosie. That's what it's all about
DeleteI like your way to combine the colors. The mandala is mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. What a lovely compliment. Mesmerising is I think the right word for the mandala. Hadn't thought of that
DeleteGreat to see more of your crochet, you know I love it! Your unfinished blanket is gorgeous, I love the colours!!! Hope that you get to finish it someday and that we can see it. Little travelling bear looks so happy too in his string vest, I always enjoy seeing him! Thank you for joining Five On Friday again this week, I do so appreciate it and enjoy reading your posts. Hope you have a great weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy. I'm hoping one day the blanket will be finished. It's just so annoying that new things want to be made!?!?
DeleteI am truly loving the mandala in those gorgeous colours.
ReplyDeleteOh Helen. Thank you so much
DeleteGreetings Selma. I loved seeing all the brightly colored items you have been creating. Ted looks so cute in his vest! And, the blue blanket (it looks like a blanket) appears heavenly in the blue tones. I think I hold my crochet hook the same way. Maybe because I'm self taught but it works. Thank you for the kind comment you left on my blog. Wishing you a fabulous weekend! Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteThanks Iat. Actually although in this shot the blue does look like a blanket it is in actual fact a wash bad to hold my cotton wool in in the bathroom. Will show more in the next crochet photo challenge post x
DeleteI'm fascinated by buddhism and enjoyed the bit of history. Your work is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the bit about the mandala. I think we can learn a lot from Buddism Jen x
DeleteI loved all your photos but particularly the stitch combo. Beautiful. B x
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara, I really should finish it shouldn't I?
DeleteLovely photos Selma! Travelling Ted's string vest is so cute! Your blankets are so pretty, and I look forward to seeing that unfinished one finished! A video of you chrocheting would be a great idea too!
ReplyDeleteBarbara xx
I don't really like photos of myself but if I can beat it I may at some point video myself too. Eek!!!
DeleteOh, I just love the doily! And that stitch combo is so pretty too!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Marie
DeleteWhat a fun challenge and a great way to show off your work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Snap it's been such good fun x
