Sneak snap shot of sailing in Scotland

      April 8th

We kept a good look out for Nessie and were rewarded/punished for it?!?!?
Over Easter we flew to Scotland to be reunited after a long winter with our dear boat Brimble. It was a wonderfully different sailing experience for us as we sailed her through the Caledonian Canal; the water way which allows vessels to cut through the country,  in our case, east to west and avoid hundreds of miles of sailing around the northern headland of the UK.
Here I share with you a sneak peak of five photos.  For those interested I will be posting a fuller version tomorrow of our wonderfully mixed bag of Scottish sailing, but for now...

Coming in to Fort William a set of 5 locks to get through

One of the many canals joining the Lochs of Scotland

We travelled in company with our good friends on their boat Thembi

The highest point of the canal system.  Having our sailing boat 106 feet above sea level was quite surreal

Ooops,  just realised I am sharing six photos with you!

Light houses are not only vital to navigation they are beautiful too

Pop back again tomorrow and see the full journey on Brimble.
Joining in with  Amy sharing my five (6) photos with you this week
Pop over and see what others are sharing too.

Wishing you all a very happy weekend

      4. I just love Scotland. Mind you, our part of the Forth-Clyde canal doesn't look so wild and idyllic as the parts you show today. Magnificent. Have a lovely weekend.

        1. Christina the whole canal was wonderful and if truthful Loch Ness was the least scenic. You are lucky to live in Scotland

      6. To be honest Jukes Fort William town itself is perhaps not somewhere I would revisit but the canal part was wonderful. We took a week through the canals

        1. Thanks Karen. It was a real mixed bag of weather I can tell you. The beginning and end if the week there were full blown gales but luckily we knew before hand so were safely snugged up in marinas on those days.

      17. Oh glory! What a wonderful way to go across the country. In our travels in Great Britain we've always enjoyed seeing canal boat and walking along the canals and waterways. I suppose you have to relax and enjoy the time it takes to get through the locks. Hope you have a lovely weekend.
