      And so it continues...

      July 8th

Life is zooming past at a trillion miles an hour, before I know the kids will have left home and I will struggle to lift up an empty kettle.  The days and weeks are just flying past and where has our summer gone?  Here in rural Oxfordshire we had a damp squid of a June, I do believe it rained every day, yes you read that right, every day!!!  And the beginning of July has not been much better until yesterday.  Someone said it was to do with those pesky jet streams well I say, blow away and let the Azores high come in and we can have warm settled weather.  It's not too much to ask is it?

Blue sky did make a return this week and I
took the opportunity for a lovely long river walk

      Testing out photography tips,
I still have some way to go

      Garden flowers in the kitchen.
      Flowers really lift my spirits

Last weeks designing frustrations got the better of
me and I started all over again for the 4th time.
Fingers crossed this one will make the cut.
Actually can you cross everything for me?

And cherries... I'm slowly formulating ideas of how to beat
The Twisted One  at designing my very own 3D crochet cherries

Sharing my 5 photos with you this week, thank you to Amy for hosting as always.

And finally, apologies to my lack of responses to all your wonderful comments on the blog.  I love the interaction that we have with each other and I hope that in the coming days I will reply to ALL comments.  Blaming real life for getting in the way of my virtual one!

      5. I think we're all longing for some blue skies. Though if it wants to wait until the 2 weeks I'm off in August that would be fine! X

      6. Oh, it has been wet and dismal hasn't it? I long to feel the warmth of the sun on my back and have a few days together when we can dry laundry outside again, mow the grass and sit and read in the garden in the early evening. Have a lovely weekend:)

      7. Wettest June on record apparently. It's been miserable and my garden looks a total mess as a result.

      8. Love the flower photos, very artistic especially the top one. Sounds a bit miserable weather wise, good time to do some crafting when its like that. We actually had a shower yesterday, mind you probably only filled an egg cup! Hope your weekend weather is kinder to you have fun xcx

      9. Wonderful crocheting - hopefully the design issues will work out. I love your pictures. The one that catches my eye is the one of the flowers in the kitchen, beautiful colours against a stark white background. They really pop.

        Have a great week!

      13. Hi Selma, I'm so behind in my blog reading...I loved the five photos you shared. And, the Pimms cake you made looks not only lovely but yummy, too! You asked me about Airbnb; we've had very good luck with using it. The only time we had a glitch was in California. Enjoy your weekend and your crocheting :). Pat xx

      26. Glad to hear that you finally got such beautiful sunshine! Your flowers are beautiful with the blue sky in the back. I think the kitchen flowers made your place more colorful! Rainy season is lingering here in Japan. I miss blue sky every day.

      28. The weather has been rubbish nearly everywhere I think. I keep reading about a Spanish plume on the way, bringing warm weather but haven't seen one yet! Good luck with the cherries :-) xx

      29. It is no wonder that weather is a common topic of conversation, because it certainly affects our lives! This year our wild cherry tree produced a moderate amount of cherries which our local birds feasted on, but the two I tasted were tiny in comparison to yours, and I dare say were more tart than yours, too. I am very curious to see what you create with your crocheting. xx

      30. A wet squid of a month...cute way to put it! :-) But I'm sure it was anything but cute when dealing with it. Glad you have some sunshine. Sorry your designing isn't going well and you had to start over again...in quilting, we call it "un-sewing" and that is such a pain! Lovely cherries! I love eating them this time of year! Have a great week.
